The Tesla vote on Musk’s salary is simply obscene, and to the eternal shame of those shareholders who supported it. Not content with ignoring the Have Nots, the Haves just want it all for themselves.

What gets me more than anything else when I see people turning to Reform for comfort and answers is that this is the same bunch of snake-oil muppets who told you that Brexit would solve all your problems and instead gave you more grief. Are you really just going to happily be conned again?

So whenever Trump is moved towards sending real help to Ukraine, we have a two hour call from Putin and suddenly it’s UK and EU who are apparently the bad guys here…
The ‘deal maker’ image Trump tries to present obscures only a cowardly apologist for Russian aggression.

‘Land of the Brave and Free’ - where a dictator distorts his powers and bullies state agencies to criminalise his enemies and encourage gifts for his personal wealth.
I hope that history will judge not only Trump but the Republican Party law makers who sit easy with this is affront to democracy.

People comment here on all the great events of the day but I find myself at a loss to understand the mentality of whoever set out to torch and burn ten bee hives in Almere in Holland, killing half a million bees in the process.
For what possible purpose or cause can that be a thing to do?

The main story on BBC 6 Music News this morning is that a ‘boat carrying migrants is on its way to France’

Delivered in the same upbeat tone as England winning the women’s Euros.

The migration ‘debate’ in this country is unmoored from reality, and the media-political complex is feeding it

Corbyn and Sultana fall out over new party - who could possibly have seen that coming…??
Maybe George Galloway can mediate?

Small things in desperate times:
I find myself cheering on Kate to show up Melania, a class act against an act.
Go Kate…

Kruger defection - not often that the rats head for an even more rotten hulk instead…
But then having been Boris’ ‘political secretary’, good judgement wouldn’t be a likely asset…
What a ghastly game of musical chairs we are witnessing.

It is interesting that in both Canada and Norway the progressive parties made big gains among ordinary people and despite populist attacks, by bringing into government individuals with proven public ability in other spheres of influence.
The UK Labour government needs to learn from this.

To even the most casual of observers - or those who do a ‘Question Time’ count over the last number of years - this is very true. Quite shameful biased behaviour from the national broadcaster.
BBC Accused of Pro-Reform Bias as Lib Dems Launch Campaign to End ‘Wall to Wall’ Farage Coverage

They accuse the BBC of “following Farage around like a lost puppy” and have complained to Ofcom to demand fair coverage

At the risk of sounding like a government spokesperson, I wonder if we're too gloomy. NHS waiting times are falling, as are net migration numbers. Growth hasn't been fast, but it's improved. Real wages are growing. Inflation is a bit sticky, but much reduced.

She is the kind of Labour politician that scares them most - not the trot Corbynistas, not the trying to outflank Reform centrists. Instead a good person wanting ordinary people to have better lives within a well performing but fairer economy. The kind of popular progressive that they know can win!

Rayner is absolute class. She's been a bit silly in organising her taxes, but that's not why they hate her. They hate her because she did not know her place.

Right wing media has had it in for Angela Rayner from the start - they couldn’t bear a working class woman being so powerful & dynamic. She made a mistake and has paid heavily for it. Very much hope she’ll return at some point in the future - our politics desperately needs more voices like hers

MAGA is rapidly moving on from a silly hat to the real task which will face the nation once this corrupt regime is gone. Much has been lost - reputation, trust, standing, friendships, allies, assets, people - the list goes on.
It will be a long hard haul to be great again.

So Florida is to end vaccine mandates for children, turning back public health there for decades.
The Republican Party must answer for unleashing these mad, criminal policies on the people of the USA, but that reckoning will come too late for kids affected by measles, whooping cough and worse.

The system produces more and more obscene outcomes moving value from ordinary people trying to get on with their lives into the already vastly swollen pockets of super rich. We need a change to fundamentals here and company boards should actually be leading this change instead of encouraging greed.
Starbucks CEO pay: $96 MILLION
Starbucks worker pay: $15,000

Coca-Cola CEO pay: $28 MILLION
Coca-Cola worker pay: $14,000

CEOs used to make like 20x the average worker.
In 2024, the average CEO earned 632x more.

The system is rigged.

Trump is enormously out of his depth on Ukraine and being played as a patsy by Putin, with the people of Ukraine set to be the big losers.
Europe has to exert maximum pressure on Trump.

Immigration has already dropped by half under Starmer. Check it out. The media aren't telling people that. They're obsessed with people coming on boats. Starmer is tackling that problem at every point in the chain. This approach will of course be successful, but it takes time.
