I will tell you why prompting an AI system, even if you get something good back, doesn't make you or the generative model you used "artists." Artists are communicators, not consumers.

Getting a chance to demo Blua to some folks at Handmade over the weekend was really refreshing!

My "what would I do if I won the lottery" right now would more or less be a lot of Blua stuff and related research with no strings attached to making a Product out of it.

ok, time to roll out #picotron 0.1.1e (;^ _ ^)

First up is the new BBS runtime, including: copy/paste, tooltray widgets, png & gif capture, and kinda-persistent file storage (IndexedDB). Try it in your browser with a windowed cart like picocalendar by pck404:

I haven't decided what my end goal for Blua is, other than as a core component of games and software I write for myself, but one thing some folks have asked me is whether writing about the design and implementation would make a good textbook.

Maybe?

I wonder how that typically works.

I alluded to my virtual machine on Twitter earlier - here's the skinny: in 2022, I decided to build myself a bit of a web-based notebook to my own liking. Part of it was building a vanilla JS parser for a markdown-like syntax that I liked.

My personal doctrine of total resistance is as follows: if those in power wish to see people suffer in places like this one, to see them panic and at a loss for words, then to pursue joy and to speak clearly will be acts of opposition.

Would people be interested in seeing more of the behind the scenes work I've been doing for the last couple of years? I've kept a lot of my tinkering outside the PICO-8 to myself, but I've been working on kind of a bigger project.
