I keep a daily log of things I’m grateful for because it is so easy (for me) to get lost in the sea of overwhelming information constantly bombarding me…and the gratitude logs remind me that good STILL exists.
Gratitude log day 197, 198:
- my daughter was discharged from NICU and we finally got to take her home with us!
-water, water, water
-friends who bring food over

-daughter can breath on her own, she is on track developmentally, can breastfeed, and passed her hearing test
-we spent 3 days holding her skin-to-skin
-Dr let us go without leads/sensors and off monitor for the day
-took her on her 1st walk around NICU

-the kindest NICU nurses and doctors
-elevating my very swollen legs and feet
-Delta sound waves
-holding my daughter - although brief was the best feeling in the world

-incredible nurses taking care of me during labor and delivery and postpartum
-the NICU doctors who saved my daughters life
-my sister doula for taking such good care of me while I labored
-my husband literally wiping me, bathing me, holding me

40 weeks pregnant - 4.4 mile hike with my two dogs and my husband.
They say to induce labor you need to increase oxytocin … and mountains, plants, fresh air, dogs, and my fella are the best oxytocin boosters I know!

Normally, I’m working on practicing gratitude.

Currently, I’m 39w pregnant and so ready for this journey to end…

So I guess I’m grateful that I’ve given up on being health conscious and am fully food and rest indulgent now.

-my husband wiping away my tears and kissing my forehead as I complained about feeling unattractive at 39w pregnant
-one of the most glorious fall days; so beautiful that we took two very long walks with the dogs

-my neighborhood went so big with Halloween! Fire pits in front yards, candy stations, warm beverages, etc.

I honestly think that these groups are the lynchpin of community. Offering what you have FOR FREE to someone who might need it is so important not just now but always.
