Very true. Too much traditional media is still stuck in the 18th century coffee house. Sadly, the only big reformer in the last half century was Murdoch. A fresh approach, which isn't at the mercy of the tech giants, is desperately needed.

"Across our communities, we share the same priorities - making ends meet, accessing healthcare, decent schools and secure homes. We need to end scapegoating and look for solutions."

Linkedin is powerful for this. It's taken more seriously than others platforms, and from your posts they'll get a feeling for how serious you are.

These guys are inundated with pitches, you need to do a bit of digital woo-woo to make them notice.

I do: connect on (their personal) linkedin with a message, like/comment (constructively) some of their posts. Ditto Twitter, this platform, insta etc. Give it 24 hours, then email. Tends to work better than just cold emails.

I quite like "give it a read", it implies a willingness to engage with the material, almost like establishing a relationship.

In a way, I can understand it. For the royal family, when Andrew gets charged for crimes and sentenced (eventually, one hopes) it will look better for them if he's already been ex-duked. All eyes on the United States, where the big Epstein dominoes will (one of these days) start falling.

Even in the 40s, when the UK had a population about a third less than today, food imports were of massive strategic importance (Britain would have starved without them) despite all available land converted for agricultural use and strict rationing.

I give my mum regular computer lessons. Despite my best efforts, it took her months to twig that you could have multiple tabs open in her browser (which she still refers to as "my Google")
