The black Pom is named Buster he’s only gunna be with us for a little while. The tan Chihuahua is so scared as to be hard to adopt. He will be a pretty good dog for somebody someday but it’s gunna be a while.

Pretty happy with my three chevron wide walkway I am going to continue with the running bond to the left and fill in with earth around the walkway.

Rented the paver block saw today and cut all the pieces for the edge of chevron pattern. All said about five hours with the saw and all the pieces were cut, decided to do simpler corners in the end.

The unsightly trench finally began its conversion to an attractive chevron pattern walkway. We found the stones we removed to make room for this more than a year ago.

A little end of summer update. First photo is peanut our elderly chihuahua. Second is Chewbacca our current foster. Third is the pear tree that I was going to cut down last winter but never got around to it doing the best it ever has in our three seasons with it.

Over a year later those huge slabs of stone have been removed and we are almost ready to lay a paver walkway. Not pictured is the completed wall behind our photographer.

The east wing of the garden is finally starting to take shape moving some little blue stem in now. Last weekend it was smooth blue aster and the weekend before it was the false aster. Took a day from work to get this done before the rain excited to show it in bloom as we get further into spring.

And just like that Siren is with her new family. It was a lot of fun and hard work house breaking her learned a lot about myself and dogs in the process. Super excited for her to graduate to a fenced in back yard.

Poodles are a lot of fun. I wish I was a better dog trainer with more time. They love nothing more than to get a pat on the head and to hear their good. Really high energy though.

Fostering dogs is a lot of work. I’ve got to sign my wife up for a huge time commitment just to maintain parity. Super cute though.

The first course is in and we’ve done one lift being that first course. We got half way through the second lift but the rain forced us to stop. Tomorrow finish the second lift, lay the second course. We’ll probably run out of crusher run tomorrow too.

We finally started the retaining wall today!
September 26, 2024 at 8:22 PM
Started moving crusher run at 815, laid my corner piece at around 1300, was totally cooked by 1600. Tomorrow I hope to get the first course finished and the backfill tamped. If I can get the second course in and that backfill started I’ll call this weekend a super success!
