I actually kind of defended BLONDE too when it came out - not for being actually great or anything, but rather that there was too much vision and artistic power there for it to be totally worthless. Seeing those same talents be wasted so wholly like this is a massive shame.

Vote Katie Wilson for Seattle Mayor 2025.

Seattle (and Washington state) are clearly in the crosshairs of the Trump admin, so why would put a guy in power who has proven to be a dependable corporate bootlicker and knee-bender?

If you want to be fighting the fight, Pramila, then fucking fight.

I had to call both her Seattle office AND her DC office to get someone to confirm that, yes, she is actually endorsing him. That they couldn't offer her reasons for that choice tells me she hopes folks won't call her out on it, and to that I say: Quit being a coward. Be a sell-out or grow a spine.

Bruce is currently promoting his list of endorsements for his upcoming reelection campaign and Pramila is near the top of that list. But the only real proof I could find of that was a quote from last December where she praised mostly him for "pushing back on MAGA" during his tenure.

This is the same Bruce Harrell who:

1) Promoted Prop 1B (evil shit)
2)Keeps funneling money into SPD
3) Is fighting for even fewer renters protections
4) Wants even more sweeps of unhoused encampments
5) Continues to promote the abject failure of a City Council we have right now

What a humiliating hatchet job of an article. Kasparov should stick to chess since his childish black-and-white worldview requires him to totally flatten and misrepresent the nuances of Mamdani's platform to even put him in viewing distance of Cuomo and his establishment drivel. Phony hack shit.

Add on that pulse-shattering opening and the genuine dread that mounts like the piles of dead and you get one of the better zombie movies of that era if not the entire subgenre. That Boyle and Garland continue to lampshade this for being made out of misguided "obligation" will never not be gross.

Nearly every film nonprofit I'm involved with is struggling right now, and that kills me. The rich need to start giving because the poor sure as shit don't have the flexible income these days. Seeing orgs I love die due to lack of funding is a special (i.e. fucked up) kind of heartbreak.

Some of my orgs biggest donors - folks who would give $50k+ a year - are now barely giving over $10k and insisting it's because of Trump. If you're part of the wealth class that'll see huge boons from Trump's upcoming tax cuts and refusing to help anyone else, you're a bad person - plain and simple.

As someone who works at an arts nonprofit, I feel it must be said - the existence of nonprofits inherently suggests a failure of governance, and that so many organizations are struggling to find funding right now only proves how much we need to redistribute the hoarded wealth of the upper class.
