NYC is one of the safest cities in America and it's subways are above average for US public transportation. I feel much safer in NYC subways as a tourist than Minneapolis light rail as a local.

You assume the reason to add alt text is to clarify things for people without disabilities. That's like assuming curb-cuts exist so able-bodied people don't trip.
