Just finished #TheLowdown, what a great ending. Recommending this show to everyone. Jeanne Tripplehorn is amazing, and the episode with Peter Dinklage managed to make me laugh and cry.

Federal immigration agents have detained an alarming number of U.S. citizens, demonstrating their widespread failure to respect basic protections against wrongful seizures.

“Any one of us could be next,” said Cody Wofsy, Deputy Director of our Immigrants' Rights Project.
More Than 170 U.S. Citizens Have Been Held by Immigration Agents. They’ve Been Kicked, Dragged and Detained for Days.
The government does not track how often immigration agents grab citizens. So ProPublica did. Our tally — almost certainly incomplete — includes people who were held for days without a lawyer. And nearly 20 children, two of whom have cancer.

Loving The Lowdown on FX. For fans of Coen Brothers movies, mysteries, or Ethan Hawke. Great characters and laugh out loud scenes, with some sudden violence interspersed. #TheLowdown

read this study in April that the shingles vaccine reduces dementia risk by 20%. I booked my vaccine that day, just had my second dose today.

shingles vaccine is *rough* & I've cleared the weekend for it. but even if it's just 3% lower dementia risk I'll take it.

Study strengthens link between shingles vaccine and lower dementia risk
A new analysis of a vaccination program in Wales found that the shingles vaccine appeared to lower new dementia diagnoses by 20% — more than any other known intervention.

Technically I was off this week. But I had to write - and speak - on the most contentious days in TV comedy yet. Three of Paramount's TV shows aggressively criticized the company over Stephen Colbert's cancellation. It was the week comedy hit back. READ: https://loom.ly/hCJ2hOI

Very well-reported story about DOGE activities at the NLRB. Anyone with a modicum of cyber security training will recognize how big a breach this is.

A whistleblower tells Congress and NPR that DOGE may have taken sensitive labor data and hid its tracks. "None of that ... information should ever leave the agency," said a former NLRB official.

The West Passage by Jared Pechaček is a fairy tale quest on acid. The setting is wonderful, weird, and frightening depending on the chapter. Loved the illustrations too. Completely unique and highly recommended. 📚🪐

Everyone should read this, especially for the bits in the article that give us some insight into what these detention prisons used by ICE are like.

And no one, no one, should be traveling to the US if they can avoid it. No one.
