Taiwan faced a drought that caused chipmaker TSMC to compete with local farmers for water. Nvidia’s carbon emissions rose 87% in 2024 alone. Workers face grueling schedules to keep up, and factory emissions are worse for global warming than CO2.

So obvious, incredible that it needs debate. The same goes for YouTube and any other platforms whose algorithms affect unbiased public dissemination

I would love to see an informed debate about AI in the public sector, exploring why it is not always a good idea and when it actually delivers benefits to people, justifying the expense and environmental cost.
