Listened to the first episode of @wilwheaton.net's new podcast, It's Storytime with Wil Wheaton, and enjoyed it a lot. I can't wait for more.

Me: "Man, I can't wait to read @scalzi.com's new book! I wonder what his author photo is this time?"

This has got me cackling every time I see it. The helmet on top of his helmet is just 🤌.

Out of curiosity, does anybody else tend to rewrite the alt text on pictures and gifs because the autogenerated stuff is lackluster?

I finished reading The City in Glass by @nghivo.bsky.social the other day and loved it. Five stars and an instant book of the year for me.

Started The Empress of Salt and Fortune this morning. I rarely read books by the same author back to back. #booksky

I have a lot of new followers, and I hear bluesky has a lot of new users!

Welcome, friends!

I belong to the Bluesky School of Thought that when we see someone being trash, we do the thing that will upset them most: we immediately block them and forget they ever existed.

Trust me: they HATE IT.

This is my pencil drawing of the enormous Dolmen of Crucuno, a Neolithic burial monument near Erdeven in Brittany. Partially demolished in the 19th century, it was also used for many years as a barn. Its cap stone weighs around 40 tonnes. #TombTuesday

Then go back to the shithole if you miss it so much. I fucking left it because I don't want to support a white Afrikaner who probably jacks off to vintage Apartheid propaganda.

Question for the crowd: what would your superhero (or if you're feeling spicy, supervillain) name be?

This. I am so goddamn tired of the defeatism, the abject pessimism, the nihilism ever since the election.

I get people are frustrated and scared, but the negative attitude isn't going to help matters.
I am not a nihilist, though sometimes I wish I could be.

I have hope for better, kinder, richer days. And I will work toward them in my way, much as I hope you will work toward them in your way.

And now and then, I’ll rest.

It literally makes no sense to me that people will make an account here, then spend all of their time posting about Twitter. Like, who gives two scoops of flying monkey poop what's happening over there? I came here to get away from that.

TIL that Aleshia Brevard, a trans actress who transitioned in the early 1960s, played DC Comics character Giganta in a 1979 skit in which she discusses her romance with the Atom. (Skip to about 1:30.)
