scarf-js is now at 4M weekly downloads on npm and growing quickly.

This is your periodic reminder that telemetry in OSS when done properly is Good, actually.

If you're at OpenSearchCon today, I'm giving a talk at 11:25, uncovering lessons from billions (and now, trillions) of open source downloads. Hope to see you there, it will be fun!

I recently talked about how Haskell is still missing good Parquet support. Excited to see how github.com/mchav/datafr... from @mschav.bsky.social develops, looks promising!

Hashicorp did a controversial relicense of some of its OSS.

Redhat never did anything like that.

Both had great sales to IBM.

I did a double-take on this Haskell Foundation update. Looks like there is another one besides @haskell.org !

This HF also looks like it is doing Good work.

This is a remarkable milestone for us. 10 billion events across OSS documentation views, downloads and telemetry. *0* records of PII are stored, preserving user-privacy even from Scarf itself.

Better usage visibility for OSS maintainers -> more sustainable OSS for everyone!

Wow! 10 BILLION open-source usage events through Scarf!

From our first billion to now processing 1B events monthly—what a journey. Your trust fuels this growth, transforming open source business sustainability.

Here’s to the next billion (and beyond)!

With the holiday slowness, I finally have time to fix my borked nix setup! Ever since I upgraded to Sequoia, it's been completely broken. Let's see what happens.

So far, both the main installer and determinate nix installer are failing.

MoonBit looks neat, native WASM targeting as well as a comprehensive toolchain as a first-class part of the language seems like a very strong value proposition.
