The final ballots have trended much more conservative in the past... we're in that range. I'm keeping my hopes low until we see it tomorrow

I'm skeptical given that there's only 6k votes left, which puts it in this range

Here is the main reason I’d be a bit wary of calling the Seattle mayor’s race just yet.
In the 2017 race (Durkan v Moon), Durkan’s numbers got steadily worse, except for a sudden and brief reversal when there were about 7,000 votes left to count.

Basically whoever gets 51% of the next drop will win, right? If I'm reading this graph right, that means Harrell

Glad to see it. But also, not enough rise to avoid the 2000 vote mandatory recount gap, with only 10k ballots left to count.

I swear to god our region will do anything to avoid solving the housing crisis. This is 900 homes. It's nothing. And even this is fought over.

Following it incredibly closely, maybe too closely. Trying to stay pessimistic so I can be pleasantly surprised, rather than disappointed.

I wonder what it says about us that our compromise for demonstrating "pedestrian only" is by using a Vehicle to block the path.
Just a little bit ironic.

you're a passivhaus person--
on a recent passivhaus project, our sustainability consultant told us that bathroom windows are a bigger risk for mold because of the way ventilation works with a passive house apartment.
thoughts?

It's got the stupid 80' height limit which is just enough to make 6-over-2 work but not enough to make concrete, steel, or mass timber pencil.
Of all the possible height limits 80' and 150' have to be the worst

At minimum these are legal in our MR (Multifamily Residential) zones iirc...
Looked at a parcel on Cap Hill, some side and rear setbacks but zero front setback, no upper stepbacks, and high FAR.
But yes. I can't believe I have to run through these criteria to legal-test a beautiful building.

Cool ! Another local podcast. Looking forward to listening to this.
High hopes, though it being for-profit(?) throws me off a little in a world with KUOW (for all their flaws) struggling
I hope you're on these podcasts more often 🙏

Extra clarity, they "start" at 50 -- Westlake.
And notably, the original plan was to start at CID, but this was changed to start at Westlake after the N/S CID plan was adopted as preferred.

This is how I felt when I first visited Lynnwood "City Center". I'd never been to Lynnwood before the train opened. And, I learned, there was no reason for me to.
I was expecting a bunch of highrises, retail, parks ... like bellevue, perhaps.
I got parking lots and construction sites.

This is also an accessibility downgrade, and uses a male voice so it feels out of place - just like the new Please Hold On on link.
Such unnecessary changes.
