Oh this is great news. I did some work on her when I was doing my MA (c. 2001) and never got to finish reading Pilgrimage because I couldn't find all the volumes.

I work on a desktop with TWO monitors. I don't know how I managed with just one screen before that. Laptop is for backup only.

Yes, just go to File > Options > CoPilot and uncheck the box. (I assume those instructions work on a Mac as well as a PC).
