Or, in other words: Do you believe that the USA should basically "fully embrace state power" and decentralization? I'm not exactly against it; I'm just interested in maybe hearing a more expanded explanation of this (if you can/are interested). We ARE designed to be heavily decentralized, afterall.

Something I did find interesting, is that you stated that a federally managed healthcare system just wouldn't be feasible. I'm not saying you're an expert or anything, but: Would such logic also apply to the funding and provision of social protection systems, education, and transportation?

Government spending is critical to the functioning of our economy. I wish this country as a whole would really understand this.

Here's what those core agencies are, btw:

Imagine if their budgets were doubled. Imagine just how regularly and granular we could get data. No more year plus delays between data releases. Many more data tables become available/unrestricted. Governments getting far more accurate data to utilize for planning and policy.

Republicans aren't the problem when you get to the state level. The problem is that Democrats have completely forgotten about the fact that states have an enormous amount of power over people's quality of life.

Democrats hold 41/63 and 102/150 seats in the New York State Senate and House respectively.

Democrats hold 30/40 and 60/80 seats in the California Senate and House respectively.

Democrats hold 35/40 and 135/160 seats in the Massachusetts Senate and House respectively.

And this is coming from somebody who openly supports a unitary USA over a federal one.

Same sort of problem here in the states. States have considerable or even complete control over:

- Transportation

- Education

- Childcare

- Public safety

- Utilities

- Housing

- Minimum wages

- Labor laws

- Economic development

- Urban/Rural development

- Cultural institutions

- Tourism

Please do not be like this, people. This country has enough ignorance as is; don't be people like this who only work to make it worse, and therefore our problems worse.

When you consider your own sources as suddenly invalid when they say things you don't like, despite using the very same sources to try to prove an earlier claim, then you're not actually serious about resolving problems you claim to care about. That shows how seriously your comments should be taken.

Given that I am well aware what happens when I engage with willful ignorance, I'm just gonna move on. Please learn how to do research on something before speaking about it.

Bye.

I've sourced actual academic research. And you've responded with news articles. This is the problem with this country.

Your own sources acknowledge that supply is the problem here.

California must get serious about housing supply in 2020
California must get serious about adding more housing supply in 2020. The Legislature must pass Senate Bill 50. Without it, the economy will suffer.
