Drop Site confirmed this morning that our journalist Alex Colston has been released from Israeli detention. Alex has been imprisoned since Thursday as one of 462 participants in the Global Sumud Flotilla, which Alex was covering for Drop Site. He was among 131 deported to Jordan today.

I think I had better avoid Facebook for a while, all I did was express concerns about the proposed SAVE act on a post on the Honolulu Advertiser, and I've got Trumpians saying I need meds, I am delusional, I drink Democratic Party Kool-Aid, I am an idiot etc etc. Sheesh!

Voice acting isn't easy for a person with a stutter, I've had to repeat lines as many as 6 times just to get it right.

Right after Thanksgiving, you will see posts of those who claim they are being persecuted, and aren't allowed to say "Merry Christmas." Each year, I try to explain that whilst I say something like Happy Holidays, I celebrate Christmas too, and just want everyone to celebrate whatever they like.

Silly me, I forgot to post the moon phase yesterday, which was Māhealani . The moon is nearly in the phase of Kulu now, though it isn't in the sky for most Americans right now, I know it is shining where it is night, or else about to rise. These will be good fishing days, so go fish!

Today 11/15/2024 is the day of Astronomical Full Moon, which the Hawaiians called Hoku. Yes the Hawaiians really did name every single moon phase. Facing East at the early evening, you will see the Hoku moon will rise in nearly perfect concordance with the setting sun behind you.

Today 11/15/2024 is the day of Astronomical Full Moon, which the Hawaiians called Hoku. Yes the Hawaiians really did name every single moon phase. Facing East at the early evening, you will see the Hoku moon will rise in nearly perfect concordance with the setting sun behind you.
Today's moon phase is Akua, yes, Akua as in God/Goddess or spirit. In pre-contact times, this was a day were when people made offerings to their deities of choice or their ancestors in gratefulness for the Bounty they received.

Okay, confession time. Did any of you come across those videos on YouTube where they pluck out blackheads/sebaceous filaments one by one? One day, such a film showed up on my YouTube recommendations. I felt a strange fascination watching it, even though I was simultaneously grossed out.

As for the Hawaiian moon phase today? It's called Hua, and was traditionally considered to be presided over by the God Lono, the Hawaiian god of agriculture. On this day, plants of all kinds were planted. Yes, even this time of year, we Hawaii has a 12 month growing season.

Very very interesting watch! I've loved listening to Kyle Kulinski ever since he was a young man in college. He's the age of my niece. This is a very interesting watch. Now I wonder if this election was truly fair?

Very very interesting watch! I've loved listening to Kyle Kulinski ever since he was a young man in college. He's the age of my niece. This is a very interesting watch. Now I wonder if this election was truly fair?

Many cultures have names for the full moon, but my adopted culture, the Hawaiian culture, has a name for every moon phase. What is today's moon phase? It's called Huna. When it is at the meridian, it's highest point in the sky, it is approximately 82% illuminated.
