I felt like I had lost the thread of my current ms. So, I took myself on a mini-solo-writer's-retreat. Just me, my work and a ton of books. It was successful. Thread found ✅.

By sharing stories of addiction that shock and repel, and then making them so relatable that we see ourselves in them, Lembke presents us with a mirror. It isn't a pretty sight. I could readily admit areas where I use dopamine addiction to avoid discomfort. I will be reading this again.

I was stressed (re: the pressure of making Christmas magic). A friend reminded me that my FAVOURITE tradition as a kid was the simplest. Now I see others out there who need her reminder. Let go as much as you can. Read this cozy picture book with hygge vibes. #kidlit #acozywinterday #lessismore
