I had a chance to meet Sam Witwer today at LVL Up Expo in Vegas. Y'all, he was so nice. I stumbled all over my words, and he handled me being starstruck with such grace.

I love writing about women finding their voices who start off dealing with a lot of baggage, but by the end, they’ve stepped up, looked at what's going on around them, and figured out who they are. Sometimes that means using magic. Sometimes that means punching a bad guy in the face.

Ever heard of Murphy’s Law? “Anything that can go wrong, will”? Well, that was Murphy Blackwell’s life.
When I was naming her, I wanted a name that captured how the universe threw obstacles at her—so Murphy it was! But she’s tough and never backs down.
