Sci-fi fan who loves contemplating the future and admiring the past. I've been writing since I was 11 and am now the proud author of the 10 Cent Universe, a macrocosm of genre-bending book series.

I also make chili.

I think the proper response is: "Did you know it?"

Seriously, though, I'd ask if truly interested. Speaking from the position of an introvert (who no longer writes poetry), offering makes me feel like I'm pushing it on others.

Speaking as an indie author, the percentage is only a little higher (and about the same in Kindle Unlimited), but I'm paying for all my own marketing, covers, software, editing, etc. That's on top of having a "real" job.

And I'm not even close to breaking even after four books in two years.

LOL. He seems to be one of the most divisive authors, even among his fans! So many "loved X but hated Y".

Haven't heard of that one. Thanks! I've only read his Chasm City, but it really wasn't for me.

Sad to say I still haven't gotten to his Prefect Dreyfus novels yet.

I was in my college town with the kids a few months ago and took them to the library just so they could get the pleasure of wandering the stacks. We tried to find the secret room of old furniture where I used to nap between classes, but, alas, it'd been converted to offices.

Finally got my invitation to be a featured author with the Williamsburg book club the other day. 😱

While still being unable to understand the dialogue. (Yeah, I'm looking at you Christopher Nolan.)

Just read "Hombre" (1961) by Elmore Leonard. Great western!

I've probably watched that movie a hundred times! Loved the book too.
