Sci-fi fan who loves contemplating the future and admiring the past. I've been writing since I was 11 and am now the proud author of the 10 Cent Universe, a macrocosm of genre-bending book series.

Hello! I'm the author of the "10 Cent Universe", a sci-fi macrocosm of genre-bending stories. "The Starship Australis Mysteries" follows a disgraced detective on a generation ship, while "Gunslingers of Gaea" is a western series on a new planet orbiting Tau Ceti. Lots more books/series on the way!
Anyone else have a roll dough kneading song? In my house, it's "Bohemian Rhapsody", which at just under 6 minutes is the perfect amount of time.

I outsourced it to my daughter this year, and that dough is exquisite!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Do you know how much of the cover price goes to a trad published writer? About 10-15%.

The various types of indie pub get a higher percentage (but have to do more work with virtually zero publicity budget).

How many publishers have been put out of business by piracy? Not a lot. Writers, tho'...

It's been quite a journey with "Easy As It Gets", the 4th book in my #hardboiled #detective series on a #generationship. But as I'm writing the resolution, little bits are falling into place in ways I didn't quite anticipate and it is such a beautiful thing. #iamwriting

Book/science fact Fridays! Reading can help you live longer. Studies have shown this as one of the few sedentary activities with benefits. (I suspect writing reduces life span lol)

A Chapter a Day – Association of Book Reading with Longevity
Although books can expose people to new people and places, whether books also have health benefits beyond other types of reading materials is not known. This study examined whether those who read books have a survival advantage over those who do not ...

Writers, you should read this too. It's a long read, but you will find it edifying.

"It's been a funny year for me because Blue Moon is probably the most different I've ever pushed myself... And then The Lowdown — I just relate to Lee, he's Quixote, chasing windmills, running into propellers... he's a moron, and I just completely relate to him."
'Blue Moon' pushed Ethan Hawke to his limit: 'That's a thrilling spot to be in'
"Every now and then you bump up against a part that presses you to the wall of your ability," Hawke says of playing lyricist Lorenz Hart. Hawke is also starring in the film Black Phone 2.

Heavy into revisions on "Easy As It Gets", book 4 of my #hardboiled #scifi #noir series. Really, the title applies, not only to Tom's struggles, but my writing the damned thing as well.

I've always been a bit of an astronomy dork (nerd implies far too much knowledge) and dreamed of one day seeing the Aurora Borealis. I know it's even more spectacular in the north, but seeing it at all from Kansas is a dream come true!

Woke up with an alcohol-free hangover. Splitting headache, stiff back, eyes like mothballs. Took 2 ibuprofen with meds. Eating leftover spaghetti and gulping coffee for breakfast.

Any recommendations from the BookSky community? Who's reading what for #Noirvember? 🪐📚💙
Paperbacks of my #hardboiled #detective series with the new covers arrived! I couldn't be happier with them. The artist (Driope Project) did a fantastic job on the art.

What are you reading to celebrate #Noirvember? Below are my favorite #scifi cross-genre reads. Add your #noir favorites!

Coherence was fantastic! Exciting news to hear a sequel may be in the works.
If anyone is interested in the sequel to COHERENCE, we finally landed on a story worthy of the mission. Unless the actors revolt, we will probably do it just like the first one, where they know their own character details, but don't know what the other actors are going to say or do. Like real life.

Went to see #BlueMoon tonight... wow! Fantastic performances all around, and Hawke was phenomenal. The script by Robert Kaplow (a high school teacher!) was witty, fun and heartbreaking. This was easily my favorite #movie so far this year!
Looks like 2025 is Ethan Hawke's year to shine. I've been really enjoying "The Lowdown" and "Blue Moon" looks fantastic! I'll pretty much watch anything with Andrew Scott in it anyway. Will I finally make it out to the theater for a non-horror movie?
