Hello! I'm the author of the "10 Cent Universe", a sci-fi macrocosm of genre-bending stories. "The Starship Australis Mysteries" follows a disgraced detective on a generation ship, while "Gunslingers of Gaea" is a western series on a new planet orbiting Tau Ceti. Lots more books/series on the way!

Anyone else have a roll dough kneading song? In my house, it's "Bohemian Rhapsody", which at just under 6 minutes is the perfect amount of time.

I outsourced it to my daughter this year, and that dough is exquisite!

Do you know how much of the cover price goes to a trad published writer? About 10-15%.

The various types of indie pub get a higher percentage (but have to do more work with virtually zero publicity budget).

How many publishers have been put out of business by piracy? Not a lot. Writers, tho'...

It's been quite a journey with "Easy As It Gets", the 4th book in my #hardboiled #detective series on a #generationship. But as I'm writing the resolution, little bits are falling into place in ways I didn't quite anticipate and it is such a beautiful thing. #iamwriting

Book/science fact Fridays! Reading can help you live longer. Studies have shown this as one of the few sedentary activities with benefits. (I suspect writing reduces life span lol)

He reached in and handed back a twenty centimeter stiletto in a sheath. “Warn’t thinking you’d go unarmed?” he asked. “Give me some knuckles, too.” He obliged and I slipped them over the fingers of my left hand. The knife went into my back waistband under my shirt. Louie picked up a Bowie. “Too hard to conceal that,” I said. “Bend over.”

I've always been a bit of an astronomy dork (nerd implies far too much knowledge) and dreamed of one day seeing the Aurora Borealis. I know it's even more spectacular in the north, but seeing it at all from Kansas is a dream come true!

Seriously! I mean starting right now, do art and do it for the rest of your lives. Draw a funny or nice picture of Ms. Lockwood, and give It to her. Dance home after school, and sing in the shower and on and on. Make a face in your mashed potatoes. Pretend you're Count Dracula. Here's an assignment for tonight, and I hope Ms. Lockwood will flunk you if you don't do it: Write a six line poem, about anything, but rhymed. No fair tennis without a net. Make it as good as you possibly can. But don't tell anybody what you're doing. Don't show it or recite It to anybody, not even your girlfriend or parents or whatever, or Ms. Lockwood. OK? Tear it up into teeny-weeny pieces, and discard them into widely separated trash recepticals. You will find that you have already been glorlously rewarded for your poem. You have experlenced becoming, learned a lot more about what's inside you, and you have made your soul grow. God bless you all! If anyone is interested in the sequel to COHERENCE, we finally landed on a story worthy of the mission. Unless the actors revolt, we will probably do it just like the first one, where they know their own character details, but don't know what the other actors are going to say or do. Like real life.

Went to see #BlueMoon tonight... wow! Fantastic performances all around, and Hawke was phenomenal. The script by Robert Kaplow (a high school teacher!) was witty, fun and heartbreaking. This was easily my favorite #movie so far this year!

Looks like 2025 is Ethan Hawke's year to shine. I've been really enjoying "The Lowdown" and "Blue Moon" looks fantastic! I'll pretty much watch anything with Andrew Scott in it anyway. Will I finally make it out to the theater for a non-horror movie?
