Happy book birthday to Under the Netherfield Mistletoe! I’m excited to get this story out to you. Originally I wasn’t going to make a big deal out of it, since it was just a bit of holiday fluff I scribbled while I was stressed out last spring. Apparently my Muse knew what she was doing, though. One of the beta readers happened to be my German translator, and she’s insisting on translating it right away because it’s “so moving and uplifting” and will give people hope at a time when we need it so much.

The line about “your portion is unhappily so small” almost made me choke on toothpaste once.) Good morning, everyone! I am pleased to announce that my Christmas novel, Mr. Darcy's Twelve Days of Christmas is up for preorder and will be released soon! The release date is set for the fifteenth of November, but if I can, I'll push it sooner. I was brainstorming ideas for a short story that is part of a coming anthology when this idea hit.

I know, it gets earlier every year... But the truth is, if you mean to release a Christmas book in time for the actual Christmas season, you have to start planning several months early! So, for me, it's been Christmas for a long time now, so I'm excited you all can finally join me. And do I have some fun planned!

I'm a slow writer, as my long-time readers know. I usually manage about a book a year, and I look with amazement and envy on authors who can put one out every few months. I don't see that ever changing, especially when I'm writing long, complex books like the Fitzwilliam Darcy, Mage series. That said, I do have a new release coming out next month!

I had the delightful opportunity this past summer to visit England with my 12-year-old daughter, and we had a wonderful time visiting some of the places where Jane Austen once lived, walked, and wrote her books. This year is the 250th anniversary of her birth, and it sometimes felt as though all of England was gearing up for the celebration! In so many of the places associated with Jane Austen, there was almost a festive feel, with banners and posters and references to Jane Austen everywhere!
