"The magic I feel in the forest is the love that my fellow humans have poured into it since time immemorial. I am able to touch a tree that has grown for 50 lifetimes because someone, 50 generations ago, cared for a sapling."

"Life [] generously provides the things we need... through equal partnership, through acknowledging a shared home. The magic is in this exchange, or as Robin Wall Kimmerer puts it, it is in reciprocity"

"There is genuine magic in a redwood forest. I hear it in the sound of rain filtering through thousands of verdant needles, the songs of Pacific Wrens, and the croak of a raven on a high branch. It hangs like the fog, floating in the air surrounding trunks so high they fade into it."

This first post was inspired by seeing in myself and other white people the entitlement of consuming the natural world on lands our ancestors stole. It led me to think about how I want to show up in a place as magical as a redwood forest, and this came from sitting with that feeling and a notebook.

mean a lot! It’s not all or nothing. Don’t let the grief over not already being who you want to be keep you from moving closer, one small step at a time.

Thanks for all the beautiful work and thought you put into the world! I hope you’re able to find safety in whatever way works for you.

like no other, even if that place is just your home or your body. Trans spaces will accept and love you no matter what your body looks like, and you certainly won’t be the only 5’ 3” man there! Each step is a victory, and even a few close friends referring to you with the right name and pronouns can

to do any of the things you do, and huge bravery to be any form of yourself when the world looks like it does. That’s not your fault — it’s the fault of a world that makes the fundamental human need to self-actualize dangerous.

You can start small! Having a safe place to be fully yourself is a joy

As a fellow trans Jew, first of all, I’m so sorry… all of the obstacles put between us and our truest selves are deeply unfair, and we all deserve better. You are in no way a coward! It’s much easier said than done, but enough people hate us without including ourselves. It takes tremendous bravery

“To take a position against genocide is certainly not an antisemitic thing to do,” said Butler. “Most Jews are against genocide, and we were taught to be against genocide, and we were taught, as well, that ‘never again’ is a slogan that should apply to all people.”

I have, since I was a child, had a trauma reaction to Holocaust-like images and this last year has tested my ability to remain functional because the daily onslaught of images from Gaza are incredibly triggering

To see the skin and bones children in Gaza now is to look at the Holocaust

Annie Jump was arrested on Thursday, 02/27/25 around 1:30pm after being hate crimed and attack by an Amazon driver outside of her home in West Hollywood, CA.

The police report is a haphazard mess, full of inconsistencies and mimics a pattern of retaliation against political activist, Annie Jump.
📣 The case to support Annie Jump Vicente (she/her) of West Hollywood, CA.

A lead organizer for @transrescueaction.bsky.social, a non profit that relocates trans refugees from Red states to SoCal, was arrested after being hate crimed outside her home in West Hollywood, CA three days ago.
