Today, she does not one round (of 4) tunnels, but two.
Today, she fails her first leap, somewhat succeeds the second, nails the third. Leaping = jumping into my arms, 4-5ft away, from a height of 2-3ft up.
Today, on leaping round two: THREE OF THREE PERFECT!
So. damn. proud. of. her.

National Parks have reduced staff, due to federal governance shutdown. Such a critical element of preservation, these parks, yet remain grossly underfunded.

Were we to make America great again, one big step : invest enormously in fully funding National Parks and ecological restoration.

Traveling often provides insight. . .
. . .a change in perspective foists the mind to step back, ponder. . .

Photo of the Week : Series - Reclamations 1 of n

Sometimes it is just a matter of perspective.

Sometimes it is just an appreciation for how frequently utilized space is improved upon, to the benefit of 'more'.

It's a banner season for irises, and a banner season for native camas. Thankful for the ecological restoration that we can support with our hands, our minds, our intentionality; and thankful for getting out of the way of nature, letting it run wild. . .

Work of the hands, work of the mind, work in the dirt continues (and feeling pretty swell about the progress).
Flagstone removed and sold off, 22 new concrete retaining blocks installed. Eventually interior of this 'elevated seating area' will fill with woodchips for low maintenance.

Persistent, glad progress: 3 weeks of intermittent work.
(I appreciate a durable wheelbarrow!) Gradually changing a monoculture lawn into biodiverse ecology.

A testament to how we are free to change & grow and we are not stuck unless we think we are stuck.

While I enjoy & appreciate the Lego modulars, storing them takes up a lot of linear-lateral space. Recently completed a less linear-lateral solution and feeling especially proud of the result.
(note: a third, highest shelf, to be added in the very neat future-for the remaining modular buildings)

Intentionally cooking, in 21st century U.S., seems to be something many folk think ‘takes too much time’ or ‘I don’t know how to’, etc. Concurrently, many folk whinge about how expensive it is to eat at restaurants.
Slow down. Savor creativity in the kitchen. Let your home radiate aromas!

Photo of the Week!

While sometimes inconsistent, Photo of the Week draws attention to specific techniques and/or creative approaches to photography.

Centered are shield-carapace fragments of cochineal beetle, which--when combined w/ other natural elements--can create all 8 different shades shown.
