While not exactly empty, Chicago’s Chinatown feels like a shell of its usual self. On Sundays at 2p there’s usually a 45-minute wait for Qing Xiang Yuan; 30 minutes if you’re lucky. Today, there wasn’t even a line.

It only took five years but a handful of email in this FOIA production confirms what I always suspected, which is that immigration and Customs Enforcement public affairs monitors and internally comments on certain social media accounts.

When a child arrives at border unaccompanied (or is rendered unaccompanied upon separation from a family member) they are entitled to protections secured by the Flores Settlement Agreement. Project 2025 seeks to upend Flores and begin putting children in massive tents.
