Ah. The post was deleted. My hope is that Sanchez sees the grave error in his argument. Either way, here’s the screenshot for context.

In 2018, Noam Chomsky visited Lula da Silva in prison. He called Jeffrey Epstein from that prison.

While not exactly empty, Chicago’s Chinatown feels like a shell of its usual self. On Sundays at 2p there’s usually a 45-minute wait for Qing Xiang Yuan; 30 minutes if you’re lucky. Today, there wasn’t even a line.

This photo was taken shortly after we moved to Oakland in 2018, right before Brandi and David were moving to Baltimore. Best coast to other coast to third coast through years of visits and conversations. A brilliant mind. A faithful defender. A loyal friend. Rest in peace Brandi Collins-Dexter.

A father screams for his child from a tiny interview room within a basement waiting room inside LA federal building. The space is not a holding area. No food. No water. No diapers. Those initially detained include a 2-year-old US citizen and a woman with high-risk pregnancy.

A US-born citizen was walking near Chicago in January. ICE snatched him off the street, handcuffed him, threw into a van. His wallet, which contained his ID, was confiscated. He was detained for 10 hours before being released without a record of what occurred.

Mahmoud Khalil’s arrest by plainclothes officers in unmarked cars is terrifying and also reminiscent of disappearances in Argentina in the 70s and 80s. Some 30,000 people were taken in this way. They were never heard from again.

NEW: Angie Salazar is named Acting Director for Office of Refugee Resettlement, which oversees the care of unaccompanied minors. She joins the agency from Homeland Security Investigations; her appointment underscores the Trump Administration's focus on enforcement even for vulnerable children.

I may have missed this during his inaugural remarks but President Trump is instructing the Department of Justice to seek the death penalty against undocumented immigrants who seriously injure U.S. citizens:

Biden has opened up more FEMA funding and is promising every LA fire victim $770. But undocumented people — many of whom are volunteering to clean up the ashes and damage — are ineligible for relief.

Publishing the same headline in the same magazine blaming Dreamers for the Democratic Party’s multiple failures on immigration seven years apart doesn’t actually make it true.

It only took five years but a handful of email in this FOIA production confirms what I always suspected, which is that immigration and Customs Enforcement public affairs monitors and internally comments on certain social media accounts.

In June 2012, undocumented youth took over Obama campaign offices with one demand: protect Dreamers. His own policy chief Cecilia Muñóz claimed Obama lacked the legal authority to do so. Days later, Obama announced DACA.

It remains the most visible immigration victory in decades.

Carla Provost was Trump’s Border Patrol chief. She was part of that racist Facebook group. She defended family separation. Four children died on her watch; was just two years old.

Biden opened a massive facility in 2021 that minimally housed thousands of migrant children. Guess who ran it.

They hadn’t posted a story link, only an uninformed but chiding suggestion that whatever Biden did couldn’t be as bad as Trump might do. They blocked me at some point after I responded.

When a child arrives at border unaccompanied (or is rendered unaccompanied upon separation from a family member) they are entitled to protections secured by the Flores Settlement Agreement. Project 2025 seeks to upend Flores and begin putting children in massive tents.

Sound bad? Keep reading.
