This would be actually a better example as to why sans-io libraries should be the standard, such as Amos' rc-zip, instead of copy pasting the same logic 20 times between different crates for async compat with various levels of maintenance

Calling it an "RCE in async-tar" is an exaggeration, it can cause one in downstream users though. Sure.
