I feel like I’ve had so many arguments with other professional philosophers about how we need to just stop acting like Singer is this pivotal figure for animal rights, we can get there better without him and without sacrificing all kinds of marginalized people along the way

I didn’t even make it there since I had to stop once it went yay Peter Singer. Like I know the guy is famous but we don’t need someone who values disabled people’s lives so very little. I get that @ologies.bsky.social can’t vet everything but this was like an impossible listen for me
