So it was a full circle moment and incredibly special today when I sat at the table to testify with both Morgan and Vanessa for this bill. I’m not an emotional person, but I was today. I shed a lot of tears of gratitude today!

That part of my story — that I had been trafficked and that my grandparents had taken photographs and made videos — I kept so close to my chest that I can count on both hands the people that knew. Vanessa LaFleur, a close friend, was one of those that knew.

Almost three years ago, I sat in an FBI office because child sexual abuse material of me had been found. Even though I’ve been in this field for a long time, it was surreal I was sitting there with my friend Morgan Lamandre, who acted as my attorney that day.

I’m not sure it’s more patience, but I’ve had to learn how to pace myself. It’s a marathon, not a sprint!
