I wish the Government would ignore the media maelstrom and focus on things that make lives better in the day to day. Like making driving test booking easier. I know they’re making changes to kill off the bots but it’s still IMPOSSIBLE just now

The media really does control politics far too much. BBC et al camped outside Downing Street, desperate for a ‘PM stands down’ story. We have seen this so much in Scotland too - the push towards creating the news instead of just reporting it.

The new ‘Board of Peace’ looks to be more about oil, gas and filthy lucre - only $1 billion to be a part of it - and just the loveliest countries signing so far. And as for the plans for Gaza…

This White House briefing is really quite dull and rambling…listening in as world events are ‘interesting’ to say the least and I wanted first hand news but I don’t think I can persevere…

What is America doing? Are all countries allowed to just bomb who they like now? A rogue state. No wonder Trump admires Putin…

There’s not going to be a second peace prize, is there? Overall, terrible TV there

I thought we’d just get told who Scotland was playing but instead we seem to be sitting through a party political broadcast for Donald Trump, voiced by a retired infomercial actor 😖 Peace prize 😱

Seeing so many kitchen influencers on Insta just now (thanks algorithm!) and, honestly, it’s like we’ve gone back in time - so many women (always women) agape with excitement over pantries & labelling & cleaning fluids. And shooting lingering videos of their quartz worktops & hot water taps. Sigh 🙄

Back from holiday and the builders are here - sounds like they’re enjoying themselves 🙉

Trump being nominated for the Nobel Peace prize (which he so covetously, obviously wants and has lobbied for) by Netanyahu is sickening. When words become meaningless…

Maybe I’m hopelessly naive but I thought to get an extension built, builders would actually have to *build*. A builder-free week so far..

Well, that’s a shame. Some people might have to think for themselves now..
Can’t say how many times people at work have said ‘just use ChatGPT’ when I’m writing. No thanks, I say, I have a functioning brain and I don’t want to be complicit in the demise of my own job.

Whisky, salmon and oil power Scotland’s economy — and shape its politics. But how much control lies within Scotland itself?

Whisky, salmon, oil and gas: Who runs Scottish exports?
Three of Scotland’s most high-profile industries – oil and gas, fish farming, and whisky – have attempted to exert influence over Scottish politics.

Every time I watch ‘Race Across the World’ I think ‘I’d love to do that’ and wonder who I’d take, then realise whoever it was would leave me after the first leg because of how much I moaned about the accommodation/inability to wash properly/food.
