With all the calls and letters and debilitating anger, it took me a little too long to realize I should cancel my Target credit card. Done. (And it should not have taken 41 minutes. That's quite some "music" they have on hold.)

There’s so much disgusting muck in our daily lives. I’m trying my hardest to be ever so much more appreciative of the good stuff, like being welcomed into an elementary school library for a daylong visit with hundreds of earnest readers.

I deleted my X account and am happy to find so many book-loving folks and kidlit creators hanging on despite recent events. I'm still struggling, but surely there must be blue skies and other very blue things down the road.
