It's been not quite two weeks since the National Endowment for the Arts released its disturbing guidelines. Making a thread here to collect some of the articles I've found useful. Long story short, the entire arts sector is very confused and concerned right now. #nea #arts #grants 🧵

Wherever possible please buy your books directly from authors and/or publishers. Even ebooks (then Amazon can't delete them either). We make a better cut and you get the same thing or better, plus Bezos and ilk don't get richer. Win win win.

…and the National Endowment for the Arts just canceled Challenge America grant opp entirely (“for projects that extend the reach to underserved communities”) and canceled the Grants for Arts Projects app deadline on 2/13. New guidelines to be posted by 2/10. Unclear if non “America250” will be ok.

My recommendation to anyone with an open grant is to request payments ASAP before March 14. That's when the current continuing budget resolution expires. No funds after that date are guaranteed. #nea #governmentfunding #arts #fundrasing #artsadmin

I'm trying to keep up with the pace of these changes. But this article just came out as of about 20 minutes ago. The Trump administration is neutering any ability for the arts to be a voice for progress and removing access for underserved groups/communities.

I am a grant writer for arts organizations. A colleague and I are attempting to document what's going on with the National Endowment for the Arts under the Trump administration in real time. This is the latest news as of 11:33 AM Eastern Time. The thread below will include what we saw earlier today.
