Do not meddle in the affairs of apparently harmless middle-aged women, for they are subtle and quick to anger

No DMs because Bluesky won't let me.

I was recently asked if my sister (2.5 years younger than me) was my daughter.

I took it as a sign to cover my greys!

I listened Hailie's podcast based on The Five, it was brilliant

Definitely get Carcassone if you don't have it. We've played it with children and with adults. One of it's beauties is that there's no reading involved (other than one person reading the rules), we've played it with kids and with people who are not fluent in English.

I've been visiting the north of Ireland regularly for nearly past 40 years. Every time I cross the border and barely even notice it's there, I'm so grateful that it is no longer heavily militarised.

I was incoherently angry driving from from Eniskillen to Dublin at the time of the Brexit talks with some Tory idiot "Brexit Negotiator" was completely dismissive about its potential impact in Ireland, clearly no idea how things were during the Troubles.

We like
- Carcassonne (a classic, you probably already know. If not, definitely get)
- Azul (based on Portuguese tiles, beautiful & also fun to play)
- Maponimoes (geography based card game, don't have to be good at geography to play. We started with the Europe pack & recently got the African one)

I have that on my virtual TBR list. Would definitely recommend Children of Time (based on being 3/4 way through and trusting the author not to eff it up in the last 1/4), particularly if you like "hard" sci-fi and spiders.
