Special thanks to the Misophonia Research Fund, which made all of these studies possible in one way or another!

I totally agree. I'm thankful to not be in a dept that doesn't follow fads. We would love to have a good computational modeling person, but it's been hard to find such a person we wanted to hire.

Psych departments posting a faculty job, period, is pretty remarkable these days. I had a student graduate earlier this year who has been unable to find any relevant job so far, in academia, government, or industry.

I had a really good pumpkin curry at a Thai restaurant. Not to mention the name of the dish would be humorously repetitive.

I edit for @jephpp.bsky.social and I'm usually able to get 3 reviewers per paper, but it can be challenging for sure.

Also worth clarifying that our paper focused on what we consider the more phenomenologically interesting experiences of misophonia, ASMR, and misophonia. The Zhang study was more of way to imagine "what if we had such data from one of the phenomena we actually care more about?".

Is your objection that they only allow for measuring emotion recognition in the listener, rather than actual induction of emotion in the listener?
