I don't have an agenda here, so I'm not demanding answers. Obviously something happened with Summer reporting and it's since been addressed.

Mostly I want to point out that the data isn't always perfect.

And look out for more issues this next year thanks to Ed-Fi.

There's no scenario where membership should be lower than enrollment. Looking at the other top districts in the Region, after taking out the outliers (yikes, AISD) the average difference is an additional 1400 students.

(And both reports do include numbers of eligible students from ALL grades)

The Student Enrollment report is based on the Fall submission which takes a snapshot of all students enrolled on the last Friday of October. The Discipline report comes from the Summer submission which uses membership, enrolled ≥2 days at any time.

I bring this up now because the Discipline report is currently being scrutinized, and it is exhibiting a similar anomaly with its number of students.

Now obviously the most recent number makes the most sense. With the previous number, they would have had an attendance rate of 83% which is unheard of. The new rate is 92% which is in line with the rest of the Region.

The discrepancy comes from the ADA. The numbers went from 42,639 -> 38,346 -> 42,649.

The Adjusted ADA Detail sub-report shows the difference. In the later date, Line 4 doesn't reconcile with the formula which according to the footnote can happen due to audits.

Note the sudden increase in the recapture amount here when the Near-Final came out. But also note how in October that number went back down.
