I saw Pika’s video about the comp scene and I feel conflicted. For certain weapons it feels like you can’t practice your weapon in X battle nearly as well as in actual scrims. You might think that switching to whatever weapon just to do X battles helps, but it feels 1/?

Maybe hot take but I do not want a Splatoon 4 for at least another 2 years. 3 right now feels so close to being the peak of the series and I'm really hoping if anything is shown tomorrow (I dont think there will be), that it's an content extension.

My #1 hope for map design in S4 is maps are no longer designed for every single mode, we do not need 100+ map mode combos we need 30-50 higher quality combos. I'd gladly take 10-15 stages for every mode if it means the maps could be built around that experience.
When going from S2 to 3 I felt that the special design was the most important problem that had to get better and for Splatoon 3 to 4 its the maps, except this issue is 10x worse because everyone can tell the maps have problems (even post rework.) Players can tell what feels off this time.

[1/3🧵] SoloQ splatoon (series/open/X) has felt so bad ever since they began making reefslider cheesy. After that most, if not all the games I play are either based off spamming specials and subs or hardcarrying my team against 3 shitters and another good player.
