Health & Fitness Research. Is movement enough — or does rest matter too? A study of over 10,000 women in Atlantic PATH explored how sleep quality and physical activity relate to breast cancer risk. Researchers found that: Women who frequently had trouble sleeping were more likely to develop breast cancer, even when their total sleep time was “normal.” Those who were highly physically active had a lower risk. Sleep duration alone wasn’t strongly linked to risk, suggesting that quality matters more than quantity.
