I cancelled youtube tv and signed up for directv’s streaming service, which I didn’t even know was a thing. Gets me all the main channels, plus my regional sports network (not available on yt tv) for roughly the same monthly price.

Night by night, no. Overall, I think yes. The NBA already has an “it’s fixed” problem, and missed calls late in consequential games really upset fans (think of the Saints losing on the PI non-call) and a few 30 second stoppages with some manufactured drama is a fair price to avoid those.

The NBA has the resources to staff real-time monitoring of every call in every game. A challenge should send it to the team in Secaucus and if they don’t overturn in 30 seconds, the call stands. The arena can have a countdown timer and fans could get into it.
