Stanford GSB ‘25. Former journalist.
Some news of a personal nature: I've joined NTTVC as executive-in-residence.

Really excited to take all I've learned in 13 years covering business and technology at @bloomberg.com and in my year at Stanford GSB to identify and partner with category-defining startups.

When AI agents summarize the news, 99.7% of users don’t click through.

We wrote a Stanford paper on what that means for the future of journalism and news consumption.

TL;DR? I built a GPT to explain it.

This reminds me of the time that Andy Noel and I wrote a piece about BASF whose headline prompted a senior editor to ask “is this a cryptic crossword clue to which the solution is ‘Nijinsky’?”

The offending headline:

Letter published in @financialtimes.com - life achievement unlocked. (Or proof that I’ve too much time on my hands - must start on a new book.)

I first became aware of ‘Her’ nine years ago when I met someone at a dinner in a cap bearing its logo.

I asked him what he did.

“Have you heard of Reddit?”

“Yes.”

“I founded that.”

Prime delivery, but make it Mad Max…

@bradstone.bsky.social, maybe they took “Amazon Unbound” a little too literally?

I once hosted a dinner party at my apartment in Oakland. Afterwards one of the guests said “This is a really cool format. I don’t know why I’ve never tried it before.”

My gast was flabbered.

As Biden visits Angola, seems like as good a time as any to revisit this video we made when I was still at BBG about the belated US efforts to match Chinese investment in the region, and in particular the Lobito railway.

We took a crew down the railway to gauge (pun intended) its strategic value.

I suspect one reason people say Bluesky resembles early Twitter is because it was often peppered with posts saying “I’m new here, gonna try it out.”

So anyway, I’m new here, gonna try it out. 👋🏼

I used to be a journalist, now I’m at business school working to do something else. 👨‍🎓
