Figuring Creativity Out.
Hells yea I would! I'd filter it all out so I only see the 5 stars one (which I know is highly unlikely.) It also means I can go and do my chores living in my own bubble! Heh!

(I dread any negative feedback, please dont look at me.)

Look, I'm clearly procrastinating from both work and the novel.

But... am I allowed to make the excuse that thinking of book covers is productive?

And... Am I allowed to ask for thoughts from the #writingcommunity?

The hope is that the book one day comes alive! And #posters too.

I still feel how important this article is.

We opened Pandora's box, and like the rest of the world, our writing world will never be the same again.

So if your creeped out by an article, it could very well be the uncanny valley at work.

I love how this man gives me credit, when really, he has got stories to tell!

Its really awesome to see other authors share their issues and own them. That is some real inner strength.

Love your work @bjornlarssen.com !

Kill your darlings. Gods, its good advice, BUT, it hurts.

Why? Well, that's my theme for the week.

The article is in drafts as I really need to check the science, but it makes sense why a piece of us dies when we cut something we made.

Would it surprise you that the word “creative” is only 355 years old?

Shakespeare never used it.

Leonardo da Vinci died 151 years before it existed.

Michelangelo carved the Sistine Chapel ceiling without ever calling himself creative.

You wrote something. Well done.

But when you edit it, you hate it.

Its a deep visceral loathing.

Why? Well… I wrote about this recently.

Have you ever built something good, then watched it fall apart because you forgot what made it work in the first place?

I'd argue that TV has this problem.

From a creative viewpoint, there is much to learn. For the future, there is even more to learn.

Doing this as a trilogy was insane. Not only was it a way to reflect on my previous studies, it was also a great way to see how far creativity has come in this medium alone.

Times dictate the flexing of creativity.

I do this, and then I try to send most of that stuff into the novels. But.... that's only IF i understand my own writing!

There is a price to creativity.

And that's okay. For what you'll bring back tends to be fucking awesome.

Sometimes thinking about creativity is actually exhausting.

Unpacking how overthinking creativity can drain us and our own work. However, it has its teeth in me and I must learn more.

Although, sometimes the view is beautiful.

There were some truly ground breaking movies that came out between the 30s - 70s. They're so good that we still reference them today!

Oh yeah, this thing called TV happened. And Auteurs!

Creativity needs to breath, and often when we work, we crowd it. I like to think of it as growing fruit. Some guys, like Stephen King have fields, others like me, have a tiny garden.

But it needs nutrients and space. And its our responsibility to our creativity that.

#HorrorWritersChat - last question, but stick around for the outro!

As writers, we have an inner reservoir of ideas, inspiration, and energy; our Creative Well. We need to feed often aka replenish our creative energy and inspiration.

Q4 asks about your choice of nourishment.

Apathy is a problem. Sometimes you got to go after it, as motivation is the by product, not the ingredient.

Give it a try.

Go after that blank page.

I'm not the most kind person to myself.

I accept that I have work to do on that, however, there is some science to it. More so in the writing I do.

I still loathe what I write. And that's okay.

Let's find out why.

Is it a bad idea to say that when you hate your work, it's normal?

In the pursuit of understanding creativity, psychology is shows us a lot about this

I'll admit I undersell the entire complexity of this science, and the article does a little better.
