Maybe a binary option with a lock icon could be a potential pattern for this 🤔

This thought might make me reconsider offering an Auto option
October 31, 2025 at 8:15 PM
Could that mean Auto is always equal to the preferred color mode, so that a theme choice could always be a binary light and dark mode choice, with implicit correlation on one of the options?

For anyone who sees my comment, @keithamus.social , a Mozilla employee, has posted to ask for the community's feedback on which features need improving or what bugs are blocking us. It's worth submitting feedback or creating new Bugzilla tickets.

It makes no sense, so sorry to read this.

@mozilla.org, if you have any sense of urgency for a golden opportunity, look no further than hiring Adam asap.

This was a similar thought I had when I came to the Why React Renders lesson in ui.dev and I think this lesson and video helped stengthen my mental model about when and why components render.

@marawilson.bsky.social Saw a new post here from @kissane.bsky.social discussing her opinion of both options I mentioned :)

All of the migration from Substack to a decent service like Ghost or Buttondown can be performed if you know of a decent developer to help you. I continue to hear great things about both of them them.

I tried Pixelfed out last year, same vibes as Insta without the ick. I should get back to using it more.

@jhey.bsky.social and @nerdy.dev might have good feedback, having demo'ed this many times in the last year or so

For visual feedback to try all the combos you listed, this Codepen was really helpful to understand all of this.

I had to do a double-take to make sure I didn't read navigator.sendBacon. That would have been the tastiest treat!

I built myself a page on my college tilde /~username, then Photoshop'ed some small sites, then found Frontpage -> Homesite and was hooked.

Think of it like a Pinterest for devs. It's a buffet of tech-centric content. Regardless of your journey, if you want to immerse yourself in what others are producing, it's a pretty interesting resource. I only casually browse it because it's a lot, but I've found some useful content.

View Transitions + Scroll Driven Animations is going to unlock so much potential and probably replace so much Javascript.
