I do believe strongly that there’s a religion element to this hate. The vulnerable and weak minded will latch onto the rantings of their racist pastor telling them their heritage is to blame for all their failings. The question thus becomes “do I abandon my family to follow god?”

I like to go in person to a vote center as early as possible. I need to see my ballot go in the box. I’ll be doing this tomorrow when they open.

They are NOT refugees. Nobody chased them out of SA. If they want to emigrate, fine. Being given special treatment in light of real refugees being denied entry from everywhere else is particularly galling. This while people from my community being questioned for their ‘papers’ is offensive.

The next administration will need to deport them. Period.
