Absolutely surreal experiences on this cruise, it doesn’t seem real!

Pretty much! A friend from my old astronomy club posted about doing one, and I sent him a message to say I was also interested. He got me on the list! I know of people doing it on other cruise lines via talent agencies, but not sure how that all works.

Last night we left Tromsø in northern Norway, heading south. In the early hours of the morning, the sky burst into life, putting on an incredible show for those of us on deck. It really was something special!!

I’m taking a working holiday and acting as the on board astronomer on a northern lights cruise! It’s been great to get to do the more hands-on stuff (and have a literally captive audience to talk about astronomy to 🤣)

I’m on a boat just outside of Tromsø, Norway, and it has been INSANE

why are they constantly getting this wrong

(It would be great if they actually replaced my battery today but I have to go back as they were too busy to do it — apparently making an appointment doesn’t guarantee a technician will be free to do the repair 🙄)

Also, until they realise a similarly (or smaller) sized phone I’m sticking with my mini as long as possible (hence the battery replacement). Not everyone wants a huge screen! 🥲

Meanwhile, we send weapons to Israel and fund illegal settlements in the West Bank. Pretty sure the Labour Government more closely meets any normal definition of 'support for terrorism' than those it arrested.
