Cost to fund SNAP and keep 42 million people from starving:

$100 billion

Cost of lost revenue due to tax cuts for the richest Americans in the top 1%:

$100 billion

One is decried as "welfare." One is not.

Why?

Rebecca is just one of thousands of New Jersey farmers and small business owners already dealing with Trump’s chaos from tariffs to shutting down the government. Now they’re facing sky-high health care costs.

The board members were dismissed shortly after President Trump announced unveiled plans to build an arch along the Potomac River echoing the design of France’s Arc de Triomphe and a new ballroom where the White House’s East Wing stood until just days ago.

If anyone needs a first hand account at how peaceful Portland is, and how beautiful it is, I'll gladly walk around and record everything I see. It's extremely evident to anyone who opens their eyes that Portland is NOT under attack.
Federal prosecutors haven’t charged anyone with the crime of "riot" even though officials say they’re pursuing charges against those who attack federal officers to “the fullest extent of the law.”

Donald Trump is a vindictive and heartless man.

Never before in American history has a president cut off SNAP during a shutdown, including Trump in his first term.

But now he is manufacturing a hunger crisis to bludgeon the American people so he doesn’t have to fix healthcare.

I have been charged in a federal indictment sought by the Department of Justice.

This political prosecution is an attack on all of our First Amendment rights. I’m not backing down, and we’re going to win.

The U.N. refugees agency expressed deep concern about the worsening conflict in the capital of Sudan’s North Darfur region, Al-Fashir, that has forced 26,000 people to flee to Tawila. UNHCR’s head of sub-office in Sudan said the team on the ground is reporting “horrendous and horrific” stories.

There are alarming reports that the RSF is committing atrocities against civilians, including mass executions, in El Fasher and cities in North Kordofan, Sudan. The RSF must stop these attacks, allow humanitarian access, and ensure safe passage of civilians out of El Fasher.

Welch: "This has nothing to do with the shutdown. The law requires and the funds are available to continue SNAP right now without any interruption. So that is a decision the president is making on his own to allow people to go hungry."

Start a food donation center at your place of work, post a document providing information on food pantries, post on your socials promoting it, the lives of Americans depend on it, since they can't depend on the government, it's all about community now.

Fuck the @usdagov.bsky.social for their partisan comment on their site, claiming democrats are the cause for millions of deaths by starvation. Truly a disgusting entity in our government. Willing to copitulate and spread lies at the cost of human lives. This is just purely evil and truly horrific.

Today, I convened a group of former military generals and veterans to hear perspectives on deploying troops in American cities.

Their commitment is to our nation. That’s why they’re speaking out against what the President's doing as uncalled-for, unprecedented, and un-American.
