I’m not saying I like this $100k fee you can waive by flattering the president. But there are plenty of people in this country with the training to do these jobs. You just gotta cough up a salary that’s at least close to industry standards.

A big reason for lack of interest is pay. I’m in industry and am well trained and there are many like me because there are too many PhDs. But pay is not competitive.
