Before my Everest expedition, one of my knees had been troublesome for a few months. I was really worried about how I would manage to trek during the expedition with this issue. It was a big source of stress for me and my situation wasn't improving very much no matter what I tried. 1/

During the U.S. government shutdown, several NASA missions observed interstellar comet 3I/ATLAS as it passed by Mars. Check out some of their amazing images, including this one from the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter! 🧪🔭☄️

Water will be one of the most precious resources for humans during space missions. One day, we will hopefully find ways to extract water and create lasting supplies of water on the Moon or Mars. 1/

My studies of life in extreme environments and astrobiology around Mount Everest went hand in hand with the geology present there. 1/

The 2026 calendars are here! 😊 I'm very excited to share these with you. They're calendars made from my pictures from Antarctica, South America and Iceland. One calendar has pictures with me and one is just of nature. You can see some examples of those pictures in this post. 1/

I knew the Tibetan side of Mount Everest would be different to the Nepalese side, but my expedition there was still full of surprises. 1/

The Boston premiere of The Boss - Aconcagua was such a lovely community event 😊. It was full of great discussions and I was very touched by the artwork of the children from the Czech and Slovak school, which was inspired by my scientific work ❤️.

One of the things that brings me the most joy in relation to the first Slovak station for simulated space missions is its strong educational component 😊.

The day has finally come. I can't believe it 😀. Slovakia has its first analog station for simulated missions to the Moon and Mars. It's called the Cosmic Region (Kozmický región) and it officially opened last week 😊.

A mountain that changed my life - Everest. At the end of 2018, I had to overcome many challenges both in life and during my trek to Everest Base Camp from the Nepalese side of the mountain. 1/

Many thanks for all the kind birthday wishes! I appreciate you all 😊. I had a fun birthday "returning to my childhood", as my parents joked 😀. 1/

I'm almost in disbelief about how lucky everyone in our team in Tibet was on our recent expedition to Everest. A big snowstorm hit the area only a few days after we left & led to hundreds of people being stranded in difficult conditions. Sadly many suffered from hypothermia & one person passed away.

Simulated space missions have mostly been used for scientific research and technology testing. However, I have found them to be very useful for educational and outreach activities too. 1/

Thank you very much to everyone who has donated to my fundraisers for my birthday next week! 😊 All the funds collected have been going to my research and educational activities, including the Everest expedition I came back from not long ago (more on that soon 😊). ❤️ 1/

I was very touched by the stories shared during the "Emerging Voices: Women Building the Future of Space" panel this week at the IAC. My fellow panelists & I are all women who have had to overcome many obstacles while trying to make a difference in their countries/communities/regions in the world.1/

It's been so great catching up with some of the amazing women that I voyaged to Antarctica with a couple of years ago. I also got to meet other wonderful alumni from the same program Homeward Bound that brought us together. 1/
