More paintings. Maybe I'll do a short series of studies on just dogs in portraits (the best part), I really enjoyed it.
A view of the European sculpture area in the met gala. There are huge multi-story windows in the bg, extending onto the room. A tiny artist is sitting and doing a charcoal drawing of one of the big marble sculptures in the center. There's a huge marble column on the right, and some arched doorways on the left. The overall colors are warm yellow/peach in the light, and cyan in the shadows. Text below reads "met gala 11/2/23". Text below reads "11/3/25 - paolo veronese study - greyhound". A close up of the best part this Veronese painting in the Met. A greyhound with floppy ears and a red collar looks to the left. The person posing for the portrait has a hand touching their chest, seemingly holding them back. It's a very loose painting with rough brush strokes and details mainly on the dog. In my opinion it looks like this greyhound is inspecting their wealthy owner's pocket for treats. Quite timeless.
