All I ever see on here are webinars on how to leave academia. Where are the ones on how to stay? How do I find a post doc or a lecturing position, what do I need to think about in the last few months of my PhD, how do I keep building my career? That's what I actually want to know!

Had an incredible time at #IASPM last week in Paris. Being surrounded by other researchers, taking about music, making connections, it was brilliant. Feeling quite down to be back in the throes of PhD life; an overwhelming workload, loneliness, and unemployment. Ever hoping it will get better 🙏

Made it to Paris for the @iaspmofficial.bsky.social conference! I've actually never been on plane on my own before or this far from home by myself. So I'm super grateful for the opportunity to present & so happy to be well enough to make it over here 💖

Love opening a notebook and finding a ratty piece of paper with all my best thoughts on it. Truly no clue I'd done this 🫠 thanks #adhd or whichever comorbidity was in charge that day.

Spent the other week in the Highlands at a wonderful songwriting retreat 🏞️

I wandered around the stunning estate, had inspiring conversations, & wrote some great songs about arguments, ASBO's & an East Lothian girl moving to the city 🌆

Excited to get my new songs finished & out in to the world 🎹
