Do you know if your computer booting in Legacy BIOS or UEFI?
Does the USB drive show up in boot options but doesn't do anything when selected?

don't buy standalone wifi repeaters, they really don't work well.
buy mesh routers instead, costs a little more but they actually work and are much more convenient to use
