I’m heading back to Wisconsin after a great few days at the 50th NCSL Legislative Summit. I attended sessions on AI, civility, technology’s impact on kids, and elections. I’m excited to bring what I learned back home to Wisconsin.

I stand in solidarity with the striking SEIU Meriter Hospital nurses because everyone, in every workplace, deserves fair compensation and safe facilities. Patients deserve better, and Meriter nurses are leading the way.

When we invest in our child care industry, we invest in our children, our workforce, and our future.

This should be a no-brainer.

This is great news, but we could be doing even more to bolster Wisconsin’s workforce.

My budget would have restored collective bargaining rights and prevailing wage protections, repealed right to work, and bolstered protections for workers. Instead, Republicans gutted it.

ICYMI: Republicans on the state’s budget committee gut key provisions of my budget proposal to prevent property tax increases and provide real, responsible property tax relief for seniors, veterans, homeowners, and renters. Seriously!

Republicans on the Joint Finance Committee cut the “Healthy Meals, Healthy Kids” program from @govevers.wisconsin.gov’ budget, which would have saved working families $1800 on their groceries every school year.

That’s ridiculous.

On January 20th, Trump was sworn in to office.

100 days later, he’s crashing our economy, undermining our rights, and appearing to defy court orders. This should alarm people of every political background—our communities and our democracy are in danger.

Here’s the bottom line:

While Trump is intentionally crashing our economy and hurting working families, Republicans in the Wisconsin Legislature are doing nothing to offer them a hand.
