Our research assistant Jietong Xu is going to start the coolest PhD program at #KIT where she will work on the relationship between the simulations/computer models and target systems in the subproject “Philosophical Issues of Multiscale Modeling and AI” in the PHILETAS group 🎉 @jietongx.bsky.social

The team is growing - last month we welcomed our new PhD researcher Hilde Langengen Teigen. Hilde will explore the explanatory role and scope of the predictive processing framework by identifying self-assembly processes in the brain in relation to brain function. 🦋

New #AssemblingLife article on the Metaphysics of Pregnancy now out on #PhilosophyCompass. Embryogenesis is often mentioned as a case of self-organisation and in mammals it is intrinsically linked to pregnancy, so this article explores how we can think about pregnancy in the first place. 🦋 #philsky
