-1˚C today. Hubby and I skipped breakfast and went to grocery shopping by car. We had lunch at the local supermarket restaurant.
It consisted of a salad bar, pork schnitzel with creamy wild mushroom sauce, pickles, and mash. The schnitzel was huge, so we had to skip the dessert! 🍜

I bought chicken steaks, hubby has learned to like them more than beef. We had a little snow, but the ground is too warm, so it's melting away. ☃️
For breakfast: breaded chicken stakes with parsley/rosemary/pepper butter, mash, steamed broccoli and a fresh vegetable side salad. 🍜

My son and I went to grocery shopping and decided to have a buffet lunch at the Greek Gyros restaurant. They had oven-baked salmon with yogurt sauce and lamb stew, mash, and dolmades filled with rice and pork and salad. They also had pizza slices with different toppings. 🍜

This doesn't seem like much, but after a long day and an evening of playing pinball, a simple rainbow trout soup felt like the only thing I could do!
The weather is getting colder. When we drove home from Hopeakuula Arcade, it was -6˚C, luckily the roads were dry, no ice. 🍜

As the weather gets colder, feeders become more popular. The small birds that stay there all winter are delighted to get a free meal.

This is hubby’s breakfast or brunch or lunch, it depends on when he wakes up. I prefer sourdough rye bread with different toppings, fruits and coffee.

The Christmas madness has even reached local supermarket! Frozen hams, decorations, boxes of chocolates and cards! So I bought nice sausages, turned a blind eye to everything else!
For dinner: Strictly Come Dancing semi-final on tv and warming, simple sausage and vegetable soup! 🍜

Hubby and I went for an evening walk, the air was crisp and cool. We wanted to eat a pan pizza, but our local pub was packed, there was a band playing, so we skipped the idea.
For dinner: pan fried pork loin in creamy pepper gravy, mash and a side salad. 🍜

I looked outside and… it was snowing! ☃️ So we can safely say that lawn mowing season is over and it's time to take the snow shovels out of the shed.

I had some leftover grilled chicken drumsticks in the freezer. I used them in a soup with vegetables and vermicelli.While the soup was simmering, I made my first Christmas tarts. I know, I know, it's too early, but I just couldn't resist the temptation! They go great with coffee! 🍜

I went grocery shopping with my son and had lunch at the local Nepalese restaurant Susav, which is a cozy place that serves fresh and varied dishes. I also love their fluffy and delicious naan bread.
For dessert: we had coffee and lovely, moist Tosca cake at Papulaari cafe. 🍜

Fish dishes are a welcome and easy choice when you don’t know what to prepare for dinner. I always have some rainbow trout in the freezer. 🐟🐟🐟
For dinner: pan fried rainbow trout medaillons with yogurt/dill/lime sauce, served with mash, sautéed mushrooms and a side salad. 🍜
