When it's small, it's pretty easy. A really high grit sandpaper and some basic files will get you far :)

The amount of talk in a stone will define how hard it is to carve. High talc (lighter, colourful stone) is easier than dark. I carved a few black soapstone pieces and they were ~very~ hard.

I am visiting family and just helped with an AI-generated jigsaw puzzle. We donate our puzzles but this one is going in the fireplace once we're done.

I guess he had a habit of finding fledgling crows and would take care of them until they were grown (note, I know this is wrong but it was the 60s). The crows would then hang around the farm and enjoyed mimicking people's voices.
